An unprecedented run of 10 consecutive interest rate hikes has come to an end after the Reserve Bank opted to leave rates on hold, providing households across Australia some relief for the first time in a year.
The move widely tipped by financial markets will see interest rates stay on hold at 3.6 per cent following a series of weaker than expected economic data and amid the fallout of several banking collapses overseas.
