My Thoughts on 2011

December 22, 2011 3:46 pm

With great thanks to the ongoing support of our loyal clients, Strategic Planning Solutions (SPS) has had another strong year. We welcome the many new clients who have joined us over the course of 2011. We have witnessed global natural disasters with floods, earthquakes and civil wars in the Middle East. We continue to endure the global financial rollercoaster, which has been powered by debt concerns and a lack of cohesive leadership in the EU and the US. We have been, and continue to be, bombarded by an overload of commentary and (mis)information across all forms of media (which is often replaced by contrary opinion within days, if not hours of being published). Despite all of this, we have managed to keep our direction and nerve, and hopefully helped many of you keep yours! We have achieved this by maintaining our focus on our collective goals and objectives and we will continue to do so.

All of this reinforces the need for sound Strategic Advice to provide a foundation and direction to help navigate the changes that may occur in economic conditions and/or your personal circumstances. At SPS, we aim is to maximise the probability of you achieving your financial and lifestyle goals and to help you to make smart decisions with your money. For those of you who may not have found the time or made the effort to meet with us over recent years, we welcome you back to the fold to meet with us early in 2012, to help you to get your financial house and direction in order, and keep it there, year-in-year-out. This is a key focus for us for clients who engage with us on an ‘advice’ not ‘product’, basis.

Ensuring that SPS keeps up with developments in communication and Social Media, we have launched the following initiatives during 2011:

SPS Blog (I plan to provide more content during 2012 – I am also open to requests!)
SPSadvice Twitter account (my personal Twitter account @MichaelCoorey includes the SPSadvice tweets and other non SPS related Tweets which you may find interesting)
Strategic Planning Solutions Facebook page – keep the ‘Likes’ coming!

Feel free to check the above initiatives out. They are not meant to be one way forms of communication, but are to be alternate avenues by which you can relate to, and communicate with, us.

Again, in lieu of sending Christmas cards we have made a donation to’ Cancer Council Australia’. This has special significance to us at SPS as we sadly lost my cousin Malcolm, (Bev’s brother-in-law) to oesophageal cancer in May this year. We are also aware of the suffering and loss a number of you have endured, and continue to endure, with loved ones who are affected by this terrible disease. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you, especially at this time of the year.

Finally, on behalf of the team at SPS, we would like to thank you for your support throughout 2011 and wish you a fun, safe Christmas and a prosperous 2012. We look forward to catching-up with you soon!
